How Global Warming Affects Polar Bears

Global Warming Intro.: The major threat for Polar Bears today is Global Warming. Global Warming is when the Earth rises in temperature. Reactions to are higher temperatures around the Earth and ice melting in the North Pole. A major problem in the ice melting in the North Pole is that a lot of animals can lose their homes that way and they have to keep on migrating south.

How Global Warming Negatively Affects Polar Bears: They way that global warming negatively affects Polar Bears is that they are melting in the North Pole. Polar Bears can swim, but they are not animals that are meant for water. Polar Bears hibernate for the winter, and much of the places they hibernate in are melting. polar Bears get their food by making a whole in the ice and stick thier face in the whole, waiting for a seal to come. But because there is no ice, Polar Bears can't do that anymore. They cannot hunt their food while they are in the water. Becuase of all these reasons, Polar Bears are in serious denger of becoming extinct.

Simple Ways People can Help Stop Global Warming:

  1. Don't leave the water running while brushing your teeth
  2. Turn off the lights when you leave a room
  3. Take short showers instead of baths
  4. Recycle!
  5. If possible, walking or riding on your bike on short travels
The things on the list above might sound too simple, but they do help!
